The story in one line
Jason and Lucia have always known the odds are against them. When an easy score goes wrong, they end up on the dark side of the sunniest place in America, caught in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida. They have to rely on each other more than ever to get out alive.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and life has kept swinging at her ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in Leonida Penitentiary. What she wants is the good life her mother always dreamed of.
She is the first female lead in a main GTA game since the 1997 original, and one of the two playable characters.
Jason Duval
Jason wants an easy life, but things keep getting harder. He grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army trying to leave his troubled teens behind, he ended up in the Keys doing what he knows best: jobs for local drug runners.
Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to happen to him. The trailers show them working together as a couple, robbing stores and planning bigger jobs.
Supporting cast
| Character | Role | Who they are |
|---|---|---|
| Cal Hampton | Jason's friend | Works with Jason for Brian. He feels safest at home, listening in on Coast Guard radio with a few beers and some incognito tabs open. |
| Brian Heder | Drug runner | An old-school smuggler who still runs things in the Keys. He lets Jason live in one of his places as long as Jason helps out with jobs. |
| Boobie Ike | Vice City businessman | A local legend who turned street money into real estate, a strip club and the Only Raw recording studio. |
| Dre'Quan Priest | Music manager | Went from dealing to managing artists. He runs Only Raw Records with Boobie and signed Real Dimez. |
| Real Dimez | Rap duo | Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since school. A viral hit made them famous, and signing with Only Raw is their shot at a comeback. |
| Raul Bautista | Bank robber | A seasoned bank robber with confidence to spare, always looking for new talent for his next score. |
Who is connected to who
- The Keys crew: Jason works for Brian Heder, alongside his friend Cal Hampton.
- Only Raw: Boobie Ike owns the studio, Dre'Quan Priest runs the label with him, and Real Dimez are their artists.
- The big jobs: Raul Bautista is a bank robber looking for talent, which makes him a likely link to Jason and Lucia's heists.
Rockstar will likely reveal more characters before and after launch. We add them here when they are confirmed. For where these characters live, see the GTA 6 map guide.
